About Us

24 years is more than just a passage of time It is a story of perseverance growth and finding the strength to rise again

Focus Music was established in Singapore in 2002

We began with a small classroom simple equipment and a dream for music education Step by step we have grown into who we are today Over the past 24 years we have accompanied generation after generation of students who share a love for music — from finding the courage to sing for the first time picking up a guitar for the first time playing the keyboard for the first time to finally stepping onto a real stage for the first time

We have witnessed the growth of our students and Focus Music has grown alongside them

From a small and humble classroom to a well-established local music school in Singapore with our own teaching system and a professional team of instructors the journey has never been completely smooth

A Company Is Like a Journey Through Life

Twenty-four years is a long time

There have been wonderful times as well as difficult ones; there have been laughter and applause but also disappointment and setbacks

Throughout this journey we have experienced changes in our environment ups and downs in the market and unexpected challenges time and again There were moments when the road ahead seemed incredibly difficult and there were times when we had to pull ourselves together and start all over again

But after every storm Focus Music remained standing

We chose to rise again

And every time we stood up again we became more mature and stronger than before

In many ways this is just like life

There is nothing to fear about falling down

Because very often falling does not mean failure It is simply part of growing What truly matters is whether after everything you have been through you still have the courage to stand up and keep moving forward

Over the past 24 years Focus Music has learned not only how to run a music school but also how to persevere through change grow through difficulties and continue to hold on to our original passion for music and teaching after facing challenge after challenge

Some Things Have Changed While Others Have Never Changed

Over the past 24 years music has changed the way students learn music has changed and the times have continued to change

Focus Music has also continued to improve and update our courses teaching materials and teaching methods with the hope of making contemporary music education more relevant to the real needs of today’s students

But there is one thing that has never changed:

We believe that music is not only for the talented few

Many students who come to Focus Music are not professional musicians

They may be busy working adults or people who once put their musical dreams aside because of the demands of life Some have never learned music before Some are afraid to sing in front of others while others once believed that they simply had “no musical talent”

But we believe that as long as someone is willing to learn everyone can improve

That is why our goal is not simply to teach students how to sing a song or play a piece of music

Through systematic and solid training we hope to help every student develop musical abilities that truly belong to them — helping someone who was once afraid to sing gradually discover their own voice; helping someone who has never played an instrument eventually play the songs they love on their own; and giving someone who once feared the stage the opportunity to stand under the spotlight and complete a performance of their own

Because we know that the moment someone discovers “I can actually do this too” what changes is not only their musical ability but also their confidence in themselves

After 24 Years We Still Choose to Continue

Running a music school for 24 years is something we have never taken for granted

We are grateful to every student who has ever walked through the doors of Focus Music and to every teacher and team member who has taught with dedication and accompanied our students throughout their growth

It is the trust support and companionship of so many people that have allowed a small classroom from all those years ago to grow step by step into what Focus Music is today

After 24 years Focus Music may no longer be the small music school it once was

We have gained more experience developed a more mature teaching system and weathered many storms along the way

But we still remember why we started

We began because of our love for music;
we persevered because we believe in education;
and because we have weathered the storms we have learned to cherish what we have even more

Life will not always be smooth and neither will the journey of a company

When we fall we stand up again

When storms come we keep moving forward

Every new beginning is an opportunity to become a better version of ourselves
